Itinerary Details
DAY 1: ARRIVAL JKIA – ARUSHA
Meet and Greet on arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport, followed by transfer to Arusha, depending on the arrival time,* Dinner overnight at Ilboru Lodge,L’Oasis Lodge or similar.
DAYS 2- 3 – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast you leave Arusha with your cultural naturalist guide specialist for Tarangire. Which is Tanzania‘s third largest national park for with huge unusually population of elephant. Baobab trees are among interesting feature on this park, making the animal dwarf while feeding beneath under their shades. There is a large numbers of animals concentrate along the Tarangire River, which provides the permanent water supply in the area. DAY 4: TARANGIRE – VIA KARATU NGORONGORO
After breakfast, this morning you drive to Ngorongoro via wheat plantations of Karatu, lying on the outside Ngorongoro Crater. Then you cross the floor of the Great Rift Valley near Lake Manyara National Park. You will then visit a local maasai market for Shopping and bargaining for carvings, curios, crafts, and local produce immerse you in a daily ritual of African life in Mto Wa Mbu or Karatu while enjoying a time out with local commuties on their daily activities. You have options including a nature walk or game drive in Lake Manyara National Park. If you are luck you might spot the tree climbing lions, while lazily resting on the branches of an Acacia tree. other games to be spoted includes Elephant, hippo, giraffe, buffalo and many other animals. Manyara has the realy impressing bird life including flamingoes, pelicans, hornbills and plenty of forest other species. You will enjoy a picnic lunch near the park and overnight at the Ngorongoro Farm House.
DAY 5: DAY TRIP TO LAKE EYASI
Early morning breakfast will be served at 5 A.M. then you will drive across the Rift Valley again to the escarpment to Lake Eyasi where you to join a walk with local Bushmen hunters and spend time participating in the morning routine of the settlement. Your specialist local guide will interpret for you and discuss local hunting techniques still used by these tribes. This dry and rugged landscape is inhabited by Africans Bushmen who live in nomadic families and groups hunting with bow and arrow and gathering roots, tubers and wild fruits for their meals. DAYS 6- 7 – NGORONGORO CRATER.
For the muximun satisfaction on nature discovering and wildness exploring you willl descend into the Ngorongoro Crater to view game inside the floor of the crater. Spectacular animal life can be spoted throughout the year due to the permanent availability of grass and water. Ngorongoro is one of the most magnific and impressive game haunts in Africa and has been designated a World Heritage Site. The resident wildlife includes black maned lion, the highly endangered black rhino, wildebeest, zebra, elephant, hippo, jackal, hyena and the wilddogs, the most important predator within the crater. The bird life is also prolific with flocks of flamingoes on the soda lake as well as many other species of water and plains to forest birdslife . On weather permitting, morning walk near the Empakai Crater on Day 7. This inspiring caldera is especially suited to hiking along the animal trails, escorted by a ranger. The scenery of Empakai is beautiful, with forest and a waterfall at the source of the Munge River. Among may other games monkeys and buffalo are frequently seen from this area. Then the cultural takes its move with an afternoon visit to a Maasai village where herdsmen are often grazing their cattle around the crater rim. Please bring warm clothing as you are camping at 7000 feet, the condition is chilling. Overnight two nights at a private mobile camp on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater.
DAYS 8- 11 – SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK.
A Morning drive to the vast land of Serengeti plains , stopping en route at the Olduvai Gorge where Dr Leakey family discovered remains of Australopithecus Homo habilis and Homo erectus. Serengeti is probably the most impressive wildlife sanctuary in the world. These vast, seemingly endless plains, are inhabited during the migration by enormous herds of wildebeest and zebra. The herds attract the attention of predators like lion, cheetah and hyena. The massive granite kopjes is another interesting feature of the Serengeti plains, rock islands standing in a sea of grassland. The kopjes provide shelter to a great variety of floral and fauna, from the indescribable leopards to the tiny dik dik. Exploration of the legendary of Serengeti park is mostly by vehicle where by nature walks will be done at the Ikoma region outside the park from June to November and in the Southern sector of the park from December to May. From this itinerary you will spend four nights at the private mobile campset in a wilderness areas near the sites of anual migratorion herds of wildebeest.
DAY 12 –
Today you will depart from the park by light aircraft flying over the plains of the Serengeti to Arusha. (Driving back by road options available upon request). Overnight at Ilbouru Lodge, Arumeru River Lodge,L’Oasis Lodge or similar depending on availability.
